Webmasters: How to implement Shuffle! Bookmarking
My Shuffle! List is the most powerful and most versatile bookmarking utility on the Web.
"What is My Shuffle! List and why should I add it to my Web site?"
No other bookmarking system compares to the all new My Shuffle! List™. Users (Shufflers) have the power to publish their favorite links to the Shuffle! List Social Network™ (SLSN) on ShuffleList.com. This allows them to easily share their links using a unique Keyword of their choice. No more having to email links to all your friends or asking them, "Have you heard of any cool new sites to visit?" –or– "Could you email me the link?". Now all you have to ask for is their MSL Keyword. Shufflers could market their unique Keyword by telling their friends to "Go to My Shuffle! List keyword: Jessica.". When that person enters the Keyword Jessica into the search box, they will see the links you've been wanting to share. When assigning descriptive Tags to each link and a unique Shuffler Keyword to each list, anyone could easily retrieve their preferred content from lists that are part of the SLSN. For those who are unsure of which Tags or Keywords to search, they can start by choosing the My Shuffle! List Live option (look for "MSLive" in the Shuffle! Navigator) which will show them any links added within the recent past. Doing so will tell you who added the link, where they're from, and more importantly, what their top category and MSL Keyword are.
Users will soon learn that My Shuffle! List is the easiest and most efficient online bookmarking tool to use.
By adding Shuffle! Bookmarking to your Web site, you're sure to receive many unique visitors. It's simple for you to implement and quick for your site visitors to use. Getting setup with the My Shuffle! List™ bookmarking system couldn't be any easier. The URL you will use to pass your link to someone's list is...
http://www.MyShuffleList.com/TSL/MSL/Index.aspx?WP=
And to pass the URL's Title use: &Title=
http://www.MyShuffleList.com/TSL/MSL/Index.aspx?WP=http://www.msn.com&Title=MSN
You also have the option to specify the category using: CID=Lookup Values Below
http://www.MyShuffleList.com/TSL/MSL/Index.aspx?CID=64&WP=http://www.msn.com&Title=MSN
Click this link for an example...
http://www.MyShuffleList.com/TSL/MSL?CID=64&WP=http://www.msn.com&Title=MSN
Visiting the URL above will add your Web Page's (WP) 'permalink' to the Shuffler's list of links which may be published to the Shuffle! List Social Network depending on their settings. Of course, you will need to add some code to your Web site in order to make this happen. Performing this from a user's perspective would be to: "Add to My Shuffle! List" which is expected to be the link's Title or Alt Tag (Tool Tip) on your Web site.
So now you may ask, "Well what if they don't have a Shuffle! List?" and the answer to that is...
Everyone has a Shuffle! List
Users do not have to Sign Up to start creating their personal list. That's what's unique about My Shuffle! List; it will use a Cookie file to save "light-weight" links to a list on the user's local machine (light-weight links only include a link's Title, Category, and URL). Once a user decides to Sign Up for the full-featured version, they could TRANSFER those links in one easy step.
Adding a link to the Shuffle! List Social Network means...
»  ShuffleList.com  –   Links will be displayed on ShuffleList.com as soon as they're added to a published Shuffle! List.
»  My Shuffle! List Live  –  Shufflers can view all links added to other user's lists within the recent past.
»  My Shuffle! List Tags  –  Shufflers can search for their preferred content using the Tags that were assigned to a link.
Your users will need an icon to click when adding a link from your site to their Shuffle! List. Choose any of the following images which best matches your Web site (more to come)...
16x16 .gif images:       animated:
Notes...
If the optional Category ID variable (CID) is not passed through the URL, it will default to the 'Favorites' category.
You must program your Web site to replace any ampersands (&) it finds in the link's URL with a closing parathesis ")". This will ensure that the entire link gets populated into the Web Page URL input box.
For example, if this is the link's URL...
http://money.cnn.com/markets?ContentId=28&CategoryId=46
...you would replace "&" with ")"
http://money.cnn.com/markets?ContentId=28)CategoryId=46
...before passing it to someone's Shuffle! List, like so...
